Import and Export Route Filters
114065 Rev. A C-9
OSPF Export Filters
Parameter: Preference
Path: Configuration Manager > Protocols > IP > Route Filters > OSPF > Import
Filters
Default: 0
Options: 0 to 16
Function: Assigns a weighted preference value to a route included in the routing tables. If
confronted with multiple routes to the same destination, the router, by default,
grants preference to routes in the following order: direct, OSPF internal, static,
BGP-3, OSPF external, EGP, and RIP.
Instructions: If this hierarchy is acceptable, accept the default value 0 for preference. If you
want to grant preference to this OSPF-derived route, assign a new preference
value in the range of 1 to 16 (the greater the number, the higher the preference).
Routes for all networks (0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0) should have the lowest preference.
Routes for the most specific networks (longest address and mask) should have
the highest preference. The default preference for static routes is 0, but it may be
set to any value between 0 and 16 If you want to grant an OSPF-derived route
preference over a static route, make sure the preference value you assign to the
OSPF-derived route is greater than the preference value of the static route you
want it to override.
