Parameter: Multiline Threshold Bandwidth

Default: 0

Range: 0 to 214748364 bits/s

Function: Speciﬁes how the ﬁrst-ﬁt algorithm works, providing you set the

Multiline Select Algorithm parameter to First Fit. If you accept the default

value, LRM uses the simple ﬁrst-ﬁt algorithm. If you select a value

greater than 0, LRM still uses the ﬁrst available line with reservable

bandwidth to service requests, but moves to the next available line after

reaching the conﬁgured threshold. When all lines are at their threshold,

LRM returns to using the simple ﬁrst-ﬁt algorithm.

Instructions: Set this parameter only if you have conﬁgured LRM on a multiline circuit

and have set the Multiline Select Algorithm parameter to First Fit.

Accept the default or enter a number less than the value of the Reservable

Bandwidth parameter.

Parameter: Reservation Latency

Default: 50

Range: 0 to 214748364 milliseconds

Function: Speciﬁes the maximum latency for a reserved ﬂow packet, limiting the

amount of unreserved data that the link scheduler can transmit. When the

data transmit ring reaches a size where the time to transmit the data is

greater than the value of this parameter, no more unreserved data will be

queued.

Instructions: Reduce the value of this parameter to obtain better delay characteristics

for reserved ﬂows, but note that overall throughput may decrease.

Increase the default value to improve throughput, but note that

reserved-ﬂow delays may increase.
