Configuring IP Policies

Parameter: Origin
Default: As Is
Options: As Is | IGP | EGP | Incomplete
Function: Specifies an Origin attribute override. The Origin attribute of a route
matching this policy will be replaced with the indicated value.
Instructions: To allow the existing Origin attribute, use the default.

Parameter: AS Path
Default: Null
Options: An AS path
Function: Specifies an AS path that overrides the AS-path attribute of a route
matching this policy.
Instructions: Constructs a BGP-4 AS path composed of AS path segments. Each AS
path segment includes a path segment type, a path segment length
specifying the number of ASs in the segment, and a path segment value
containing one or more AS numbers.
There are two AS path segment types:
— Type 1. An unordered set of ASs that a route in the UPDATE message
has traversed.
— Type 2. An ordered set of ASs that a route in the UPDATE message
has traversed.
