Configuring WAN Line Services
2-2
117345-B Rev. 00
You can configure synchronous interfaces to integrate IBM SDLC traffic in an
internetwork. Traffic is integrated by connecting local or remote IBM equipment
directly to the synchronous interface and configuring either DLSw for SDLC or
Transparent Sync Pass-Thru features.
Using the BCC to Edit Synchronous Line Parameters
You can use the Bay Command Console (BCC) to configure some of the
parameters described in this chapter. If a parameter has a BCC command, the
section that describes that parameter also contains the BCC command syntax and
one or more command examples.
The BCC commands in this chapter assume that you have started BCC from a
local console attached to the router. (See Using the Bay Command Console.) To
start BCC, log in to the router from your console, then perform the following
steps:
1.
At the console command-line prompt (
>
), type:
>
bcc
A series of short instructions appears. The prompt changes to bcc>.
2.
At the
bcc
prompt, type:
bcc>
config
After a short message, the screen displays the box prompt.
3.
At the
box
prompt, type:
box>
show config
The console displays the current router configuration, including installed
modules and protocols.
4.
At the
box
prompt, choose a sync module, slot number, and connector
number from the configuration by typing:
box>
sync slot 2 connector 1
The prompt changes to sync/2/1/#.
5.
At the
sync/2/1
prompt, use the BCC commands that allow you to
configure the synchronous parameters described in this chapter.
