User-Deﬁned DECnet Criteria

In addition to the predeﬁned DECnet ﬁlter criteria, you can create trafﬁc ﬁlters

with user-deﬁned criteria by specifying an offset and length to these reference

ﬁelds in the DECnet Phase IV header:

DECnet Actions

The DECnet Phase IV ﬁltering actions are Accept, Drop, and Log.

VINES Criteria and Actions

You can conﬁgure VINES inbound trafﬁc ﬁlters based on speciﬁed bit patterns

contained within the VINES IP header.

Predeﬁned VINES Criteria

Table 3-2 lists the predeﬁned ﬁltering ﬁelds for VINES inbound trafﬁc ﬁlters and

the reference ﬁeld, offset, and length value for each criterion.
