To close the connection, use:
If the host and port are not specified, it means that the connection is closed.
UDP Mode
The daemon can run in the UDP mode and the other Avaya VTCPD modes (client,
server) will support UDP-type host connections. The host must extract the Avaya
VTCPD's address and port number from the UDP message to be able to reply to the
applications. Normally, the Avaya VTCPD in a client mode uses an ephemeral port
number, obtained from the kernel. This forces the daemon to use the specified port to
listen to replies from the server. The option has no effect in a server mode or in non-
UDP mode.
The daemon can run in UDP mode, (specified by the -m U command line option).
vtcpd ... -u port ...
This option forces the daemon to use the specified port to listen to replies from the
server. The option has no effect in a server mode or in non-UDP mode.
In the UDP mode, the daemon typically cannot determine when the host goes down.
Consequently, when the host is down, the application does not usually receive a
hostdown condition. However, the application can receive a hostdown condition
if the daemon receives a corrupted message from the host. In the UDP mode, an
application can force the daemon to broadcast on the [local] network by specifying a
proper IP address in the SET command. In the UDP mode, the whole message comes
