Sample Templates for DLSw Protocol Prioritization

In addition to using the Conﬁguration Manager screens described in this guide to

conﬁgure trafﬁc ﬁlter templates, you can also edit or copy a trafﬁc ﬁlter template

using a text editor. The Conﬁguration Manager stores all templates for all

protocols in the ﬁle /usr/wf/template/template.ﬂt.

Included with the software is a template.ﬂt ﬁle that contains two sample DLSw

protocol prioritization templates you can use for differentiating SNA and

NetBIOS trafﬁc. To use the sample templates, copy /usr/wf/template/template.ﬂt

to the directory from which you start Site Manager (your Site Manager working

directory). If that directory already contains a template.ﬂt ﬁle, copy the contents of

the latest ﬁle into your existing ﬁle.

The sample templates place SNA trafﬁc in the default queue (Q0) and NetBIOS

trafﬁc in Q1. Using the default queue conﬁguration, Q0 receives 60 percent of

bandwidth and NetBIOS receives 40 percent of bandwidth. The section “Creating

DLSw Priority Filters” in this chapter lists the steps for creating ﬁlters from these,

or similar, templates.
