SRB Functional MAC Addresses
Functional MAC addresses are destination MAC addresses that always conform to
the following rules:
• Byte 0 = 0xC0
• Byte 1 = 0x00
• The first half of byte 2 = 0x0 to 0x7
Table 5-2
lists some common functional MAC addresses.
Specifying VINES Address Ranges
You specify VINES server address ranges in hexadecimal format. For example, if
the address of a VINES server is
a2482c.0001
, convert the value to hexadecimal
and specify the filter criteria range as
0xa2482c0001
.
You can obtain a VINES server address as follows:
• From a sniffer trace
• By using the Technician Interface to obtain the value of the
wfVinesIfEntry.wfVinesIfAdr MIB object
