Configuring Routers
2-4
For example, the circuit name S51 in Figure 2-1 identifies a synchronous
circuit in Slot 5 on Communications Port 1.
2. Click on OK.
If the connector supports hardware filters, a pop-up window prompts:
Do you
want to enable Hardware Filters on this circuit?
Click on OK to enable
hardware filters. Otherwise, click on Cancel to exit the window.
— If the connector requires a LAN circuit, the Select Protocols window
appears. Go to the “Enabling Bridging/Routing Services” section for
instructions.
— If the connector is an ISDN connector (such as ISDN1), a dialog box
appears, telling you that you can only configure ISDN from the Dialup
pull-down menu. For information on configuring ISDN services, refer to
Configuring Dial Services.

Note: Follow the default circuit-naming convention to consistently represent
circuit types and locations. You can, however, assign any circuit name
containing up to 15 characters (alphabetical, numerical, underline, or slash)
without spaces. Circuit names are case sensitive.
