Configuring SNMP, RMON, BOOTP, DHCP, and RARP Services
6-2 114070 Rev. B
To allow DCHP operation, be sure to set the Pass Through Mode parameter in the
BOOTP Relay Agent Forwarding Table window to DHCP, or to BOOTP and
DHCP.
Specifying Servers for DHCP Services
You can improve the efficiency of the packet forwarding process or transmit
DHCP packets through unnumbered interfaces by specifying servers for DHCP
services. Refer to “Specifying Servers for BOOTP Services” in Chapter 5 for
instructions.
To allow DHCP operation, be sure to set the Pass Through Mode parameter in the
BOOTP Relay Agent Preferred Server Table window to DHCP, or to BOOTP and
DHCP.
Deleting DHCP from an IP Interface
To delete DHCP from an IP interface, while maintaining BOOTP on that
interface, set the Pass Through Mode parameter in the BOOTP Relay Agent
Interface Table window to BOOTP.
To delete both DHCP and BOOTP from an IP interface, delete the BOOTP relay
agent on that interface. Refer to “Deleting the BOOTP Relay Agent from an IP
Interface” in Chapter 5 for instructions.
Deleting DHCP Globally
To delete DHCP globally, you must delete BOOTP globally. Refer to “Deleting
BOOTP Globally” in Chapter 5 for instructions.
