Disabling and Reenabling the BGP-4 MED Attribute
By default, BGP-4 considers the multiexit discriminator (MED) attribute in the
route selection process (see Table 8-2 on page 8-7).
You can use the BCC to configure BGP-4 so that it disregards the MED attribute
in the route selection process.
Navigate to the BGP prompt and enter:
med-comparison
state
state is one of the following:
enabled
(default)
disabled
For example, the following command causes BGP-4 to disregard the MED
attribute in an update when selecting a route:
/jointfilesconvert/92449/bgp# med-comparison disabled
/jointfilesconvert/92449/bgp#
