echo
The echo command allows you to display its command line arguments to the
user’s terminal.
The
echo command has the following syntax:
echo
<text_string>
or
echo $
<variable_name>
<text_string>
is any literal text.
<variable_name>
is the name of a variable.
For example, when you execute the script
echo Good Morning
the system displays Good Morning on the user’s console.
When you execute the script
setenv b blue
echo $b
the system displays blue on the user’s console.
